Today I want to talk to you about achieving your goals. A recent study by UCLA says that by the time a child is 18, they have heard the word "no" about 148,000 times in their life. What does this have to do with reaching your goals? Let me show you.

If you want to achieve a goal, the first thing you are going to do is tap into your subconscious. If you are conditioned to hearing the word "no" over and over, the odds of you being able to achieve a goal and stick with it when things get hard diminishes greatly.
 

So, what should you do about that? Turn those negatives into positives! It sounds simple, but it's a little bit harder than just saying it. We are surrounded by negativity all day long, so here are a few things you can do to change your negative subconscious thoughts into positive ones:

  • Read a book
  • Read affirmations
  • Spend time with positive people
  • Listen to tapes
  • Journal

The other thing that you should do is eliminate the negative triggers around you, such as the news or exposure to negative people. 
Remember, we are not responsible for the first thought that pops into our mind, but we do OWN the second. When you have that negative first thought, think about what I've said and change your mood, change your attitude. This is easier said than done, but using something that inspires you, like music, helps.
